All overseas students are required by law to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) prior to VISA approval. Students are to obtain this cover prior to entry into Australia. The cover should start 7 days before the commencement of course(s) and should extend for two months beyond the Finish date of the course(s).
This policy applies to all Students who are making application to, or commencing study with Pioneer College.
Exceptions: You do not need OSHC if you are:
• a Norwegian student covered by the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme
• a Swedish student covered by the National Board of Student Aid or by Kammarkollegiet
• a Belgian student covered under the Reciprocal Health Care Agreement with Australia.
As a condition of the student VISA, the Australian Government requires the student to have
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). Pioneer College is able to provide OSHC through BUPA and Allianz Insurance and will provide the
associated fees and charges on the Letter of Offer. The student is free to arrange OSHC themselves.
Note: Students will not be able to obtain a valid Student VISA, if they do not have proof of OSHC.
